Music for December: Ho! Ho! Ho!

Next circle: NEW DATE! Tuesday, December 11
7–9 PM
Sawchyn Guitars, 2132 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, Sask.

Here is this month’s new music.

We also have our existing collection of holiday music (just once through for each of these or we’ll be there until Boxing Day):

See you all soon!

Dave

Music for November: Monster Mash

Next circle: Tuesday, November 6
7–9 PM
Sawchyn Guitars, 2132 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, Sask.

We’ve got some spoooky tunes for our (slightly delayed) Halloween circle. Thanks again to the Bytown Ukulele Group for letting us raid their catalogue.

See you soon, ghosts and ghouls!

Music for October: Hurts so good

Next circle: Tuesday, October 2
7–9 PM
Sawchyn Guitars, 2132 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, Sask.

We’ve got some great, new songs this month. It seems heartache and loss really bring out the suggestions.

I’ll see you all on Tuesday!

September’s circle

Next circle: Tuesday, September 4, 2018
7–9 PM
Sawchyn Guitars, 2132 Dewdney Avenue, Regina

Summer is winding down, bringing all the signs of autumn. Kids are getting ready for school. Geese are heading south. Pumpkin spice is being added to everything. And we’re back at the shop.

A big thank you to Laura and Murray for hosting the August circle. It was lots of fun, as always.

There’s no theme this month. I’ve added a few favourites people suggested. I think it should be an eclectic night.

Music for July: Drink until you uke

Next circle: Tuesday, July 3
7–9 PM
Malty National Brewing Co., 1130 15th Avenue, Regina, Sask.

Don’t forget, we’re not at the shop this time.  Let’s spend the evening in a brewery with a few drinking songs! Rolf suggested the theme and sent me a classic German drinking song:

Even if you can’t speak German, we can all sing along with the “Trink! Trink!” parts.

We also have a few others in our collection:

See you all at Malty National!

June’s music: The Roaring ’20s

Next circle: Tuesday, June 5
7–9 PM
Sawchyn Guitars, 2132 Dewdney Avenue, Regina

Here is the new music for the next circle.:

These ones are already in our collection:

Singin’ in the Bathtub was the inspiration for the very first Looney Tunes cartoon, Sinkin’ in the Bathtub. Keep an ear out, as it features another song from this month’s list.

Looking ahead: For the circle on July 3, don’t forget – we’re taking a trip to the Malty National brewery! Between songs, brewery co-founder Adam will man the taps for anyone who would like a drink.

Music for May: Female singer-songwriters

Next circle: Tuesday, May 1
7–9 PM
Sawchyn Guitars, 2132 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, Sask.

I’ve prepared four new songs for May’s circle. Thank you, everyone, for the suggestions.

I’ll warn you now, Closer to Fine is a finger stretcher, but it was also the most requested song and this is the easiest version of the chords I could find. I’ve linked to a video of someone playing this arrangement on ukulele.

We’ll also play these favourites from our song book:

See you all next week!

Music for March: With the Beatles

Next circle: Tuesday, March 6
7–9 PM
Sawchyn Guitars, 2132 Dewdney Avenue, Regina

We’re adding a few more Beatles classics to our collection.

Plus we’ve got plenty of old favourites:

Can’t wait to see you all on Tuesday. Happy strumming!

February’s circle: Love songs and heartache

Tuesday, February 6
7-9 PM
Sawchyn Guitars, 2132 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, Sask.

Valentine’s Day is around the corner so we’ve lined up a mix of love songs and breakup songs.

Did you realize our birthday is just around the corner?! April 2018 will mark our fourth anniversary and, has become tradition, we’re going to open up the floor to anyone who wants to share their talents and favourite songs with the group.

Music for January

Tuesday, January 2
7–9 PM
Sawchyn Guitars, 2132 Dewdney Avenue, Regina

With windchills dipping into the minus 40s, here some music to remind that summer is just a few short months away. We have one new song and a few more from our song book.

And here are a few warm weather/summer songs we’ve played before:
