I’ve got three new songs for October:
- Wheat Kings, The Tragically Hip (1992) video
- The Gambler, Kenny Rogers (1978) video
- Jackson, Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash (1967) video
I was asked for some Tragically Hip and Wheat Kings is one of their best. It also tells a story well known to Saskatchewanians.
How have we not done The Gambler yet?! Note that the original has a key change at the fourth verse, but we’ll take the easy way out and skip that for now. If you’re feeling adventurous and want to put it back in, take it up two half steps to E, A, B7 and B.
Jackson is best known as a duet by Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. I’ve marked it where it switches from one to the other.
